About the Role
Performs duties related to sanitation of kitchen, dining, prep, and storage areas, ensuring all equipment, tools, and surfaces are cleaned and sanitized according to regulations. Assists with meal service, including tray assembly, delivery, and accurate, efficient service of children's meals according to their diets. May assist in other dining services activities for families, guests, and catered events, always adhering to policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Maintains sanitary conditions in the general kitchen area, including walls, floors, and work surfaces.
- Cleans and sanitizes kitchen equipment, tools, and utensils according to policies and regulations.
- Assists with meal service, including tray assembly, delivery, and removal.
- Accurately and efficiently serves children's meals in compliance with their diets.
- Performs or assists in other Health Care Dining Services activities for families, guests, and catered events.
- Adheres to all policies and procedures and complies with regulations.

- Maintains a clean environment in the kitchen and related areas.
- Maintains work surfaces, equipment, and tools clean and sanitized.
- Assists in meal assembly and delivery.
- Prepares/mixes specialty formulas to residents according to recipes and diet orders.
- Maintains quality assurance logs, such as temperature logs for the dish machine and sanitation logs for pots and wares washing.
- Cleans office areas within the general kitchen area.
- Collects soiled bottles and dishes from unit pantries for washing.
- Participates in the set up and assembly of children’s meal trays.
- Distributes meals and snacks to residents.
- Communicates preferences and requests expressed by children and/or their families during meal service.
- Maintains food and supplies in pantries within par levels.
- Keeps countertops and refrigerators in assigned pantries clean and orderly.
- Maintains clean dining surfaces in assigned units.
- Collects diet order change forms from units.
- Prepares and distributes custom formulas to units.
- Attends all training sessions and in-services as scheduled.
- Reports hazardous conditions to the supervisor.
- Performs all tasks as detailed in the assigned work schedule.
- Checks and receives deliveries of food items in the absence of the supervisor or Storeroom Aide.
- Performs other related duties as necessary or as directed by supervisor, department director, and/or administrator.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year foodservice experience in a health-related facility.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluently.
- Must meet or exceed all health standards and requirements for the position as established by NYDOH and all other regulatory agencies.
- Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this Center, which includes a medical and physical examination.
- Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of thirty-five (35) pounds.
- Perform tasks that may involve exposure to resident’s blood/body fluids.
- Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents, if necessary.

Salary/Compensations
- $24.52/Hr. To $26.31/Hr.
