About the Role

The MoJ’s central Strategy, Priorities, and Innovation Directorate is recruiting permanently for an SEO Senior Strategy Advisor. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join the Strategy Unit, providing integrated, system-wide advice to ministers on policy, transformation, and delivery issues. You will help the Department make better decisions, plan for the long-term, and achieve its aims across the public sector and beyond.

Responsibilities

  • Shape long-term strategic outcomes for the justice system.
  • Promote efficient integration across the MoJ and its agencies.
  • Connect the justice system across the public sector and wider partners.
  • Provide strategic coordination and alignment with central government strategy.
  • Deliver regular key briefings for the Secretary of State and Permanent Secretary.
  • Gather intelligence on emerging and evolving priorities in justice.
  • Build relationships across the Department and with external experts.
  • Undertake strategic and surge projects to develop recommendations for senior leaders.
  • Scope new projects, draft advice for the Permanent Secretary, and prepare papers for Cabinet.
  • Support projects across the team and engage in corporate activities like learning and development.
  • Provide breadth of strategy experience and support peers.

Requirements

  • Must be an existing Civil Servant employee or employee of an accredited non-departmental public body (NDPB).
  • Must still be employed as a civil servant at the point of accepting the role.

  • Must meet minimum criteria for the role to be eligible for a guaranteed interview as a Disability Confident employer.
