About the Role
The Queen's Club is seeking a Kitchen Porter to join their team, playing a crucial role in maintaining a smoothly running kitchen within a world-renowned private Members' rackets club. You will be part of a supportive team delivering outstanding hospitality in an iconic sporting venue.
Responsibilities
- Clean allocated areas and equipment according to set standards, maintaining safety standards.
- Clean other areas across the Club as requested by the Head Chef.
- Follow daily opening and closing procedures within the kitchen.
- Assist with basic food preparation, ensuring food safety and minimizing waste.
- Ensure the safe and hygienic disposal of waste.
- Assist with food/general store deliveries and storage as directed.
- Collect and transport goods from stores to kitchen/food service areas.
- Deliver summer tournament activities as directed by the Head Chef.
- Assist with moving and storing items across the Club, including furniture and deliveries.
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of catering and function requirements.
- Follow security procedures to prevent theft or loss of equipment and food.
- Work within health, safety, and food hygiene requirements, reporting issues.
- Store and use chemicals and cleaning products according to instructions and COSHH standards.
- Follow safeguarding policy and procedures, being vigilant regarding child and adult protection.
- Work safely at all times adhering to Manual Handling Regulations.
- Make suggestions and recommend improvements to the Head Chef.
- Help control costs wherever possible.
- Assist in the training of casual and agency kitchen porter workers.
- Assist colleagues at all times and when asked by the Head Chef.
- Attend internal meetings as required.
- Conduct all aspects of work and behavior in line with the values of The Queen’s Club.
