About the Role

Join our Technical Services team at Chessington World of Adventures Resort as a Creative Technician. You will help create, maintain, and enhance immersive themed environments, ensuring memorable guest experiences. This role is crucial for maintaining attraction theming and supporting major seasonal events to the highest standards of quality, safety, and creativity.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate, repair, and restore themed props, scenic assets, and attraction features.
  • Maintain the visual quality and presentation of themed environments across the Resort.
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs to minimize operational disruption.
  • Install themed props, signage, and decorative features across attractions, hotels, and guest areas.
  • Safely use a variety of hand tools, woodworking equipment, and workshop machinery.
  • Support the delivery of seasonal events, including Halloween, Christmas, and Summer experiences.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Technical Services, Operations, and Projects to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Requirements

  • A relevant qualification or equivalent experience in Prop Making, Scenic Construction, Carpentry, Product Design, Theatre Production, Model Making, or a related discipline.
  • Experience fabricating, repairing, and restoring themed or scenic assets using a variety of materials.
  • Strong woodworking skills and experience using hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge of fibreglass (GRP), resins, fillers, adhesives, and associated repair techniques.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, design specifications, and concept artwork.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to support seasonal events and operational requirements.
