About the Role
As a PEY student, you can contribute to Intel's technology innovation in computer graphics and GPU architecture. You will work with leading engineers on Intel's latest GPU architecture in a dynamic work environment with experts and unique opportunities for career development. The Thermal Mechanical group is responsible for thermal, mechanical, and acoustic design & validation of Intel's AI & discrete graphics cards, delivering Intel's 3D graphics, media, display GPU, and AI inference technology. We are looking for a motivated individual to contribute to the design and validation of next-generation discrete graphics hardware using cutting-edge design technologies.
Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical, thermal, and acoustic testing of graphics cards.
- Validate thermal management firmware using Python.
- Build computer systems and server-grade test setups.
- Develop scripts to automate test procedures and generate test reports.
- Prepare test reports.
- Conduct mid to high volume data analysis.
- Present data, including analysis and recommendations, to the larger team.
- Manage and communicate with vendors.
- Design test fixtures in CAD.
- Organize and maintain lab equipment, including ordering items and keeping inventory.
Requirements
- Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or another science/engineering related field.
- Must have 3+ months of educational or work experience with lab skills including test setup preparation and data acquisition.
- Must have 3+ months of educational or work experience with data analysis, including experience with programming languages and Excel.
- Must have 3+ months of educational or work experience with programming skills in Python or similar languages.
- Must have 3+ months of educational or work experience with 3D modeling and mechanical design skills using Creo (or at least a good working knowledge of SolidWorks).
