About the Role
Designs and analyzes various forms of financial reporting to help management make appropriate business decisions. Carries out all duties while maintaining compliance and confidentiality and promoting the mission and philosophy of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Develops and designs required reports for financial and operational analyses.
- Creates detailed financial models, including profitability analyses and projections, to assist executive management in strategic decisions.
- Analyzes reports for trends, unusual fluctuations, and data integrity.
- Analyzes charge account data in relation to metrics such as RBRVS and RVUs.
- Designs and analyzes required allocations and reports for cost accounting and budgeting.
- Works with the general ledger department to identify and implement coding practice changes impacting cost accounting.
- Develops and maintains spreadsheets, queries, and processes for annual budget preparation.
- Facilitates the implementation of new budget processes.
- Assists in process improvement initiatives across the Finance department.
- Assists in developing and maintaining financial data in the data warehouse.
- Maintains a working knowledge of revenue and expenses and their impact on reporting.
- Assists in troubleshooting automated data processes.
- Coordinates with other finance department members to achieve department goals.
- Handles other assignments and projects as assigned by management.
- Performs specific roles reflective of areas of specialization/expertise, such as managerial accounting, cash management and forecasting, or compensation calculations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration (accounting or finance preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five (5) or more years of related experience required, including analysis and design of financial modeling.
- At least 2 years of healthcare industry experience preferred.
- Oracle Financials experience is a plus.
Skills
- Working knowledge of SQL preferred.
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access.
- Knowledge of healthcare industry.
- Demonstrated skills in the analysis and design of financial modeling.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of GAAP, accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls.
- Strong research and analysis skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly and learn new tasks independently.
- Excellent organization skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities.
- Uses own judgment to make decisions on a variety of complex matters in accordance with established procedures.
