About the Role
In this role, you will own the platform every anzel agent runs on and set its architecture. You will build alongside a small senior team, close to the customer, focusing on making AI agents dependable for multiple customers simultaneously, ensuring correct answers, data privacy, and trustworthy outputs for real-world sponsorship deals.
Responsibilities
- Own the platform every anzel agent runs on and set its architecture.
- Define what anzel builds, buys, and retires.
- Develop the harness for turning plain-language skills into reliable agents, including tools, orchestration, long-running work, memory, context, retrieval, structured output, model routing, fallbacks, and rollbacks.
- Manage the tool layer for agent usage, versioning, and access control.
- Collaborate with the head of engineering to ensure safe agents and separate data, including data isolation, principle of least privilege for tools, prompt injection defense, and action recording.
- Oversee quality in the pipeline with evaluations run on every change, using test sets from practitioners and an evaluation engineer.
- Manage the engineering system, including continuous delivery, review processes with coding agents, and rapid rollback releases.
- Lead by building, making clear decisions, and providing fast, kind reviews.
Requirements
- Eight or more years of experience building and running production software, or equivalent self-built experience.
- Demonstrated backend depth, including APIs, relational databases, queues, and long-running workflows.
- Experience with language model products used by real users, including lessons learned from failures.
- Proven ability in retrieval systems and agents beyond demo capabilities.
- Experience with evaluations that validate changes and a critical approach to testing.
- Daily experience using coding agents without shipping incomprehensible code.
- A security mindset from running systems with customer data.
- A portfolio of built work to showcase.
