About the Role
The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for organizing, maintaining, and verifying all aspects of the credentialing process for healthcare practitioners for the AlbanyMed CVO. This includes maintaining the integrity of the provider database for accurate information and a reporting of credentialed providers. This position shall provide input for process design to create workflow efficiencies and support other implementation activities. The role involves working with various departments to ensure information accuracy and data exchange, and contributing to compliance and time-sensitive requirements within a team-based environment to maintain organizational accreditation.
Responsibilities
- Organize, maintain, and verify all aspects of the credentialing process for healthcare practitioners.
- Maintain the integrity of the provider database for accurate information.
- Generate reports of credentialed providers.
- Provide input for process design to create workflow efficiencies.
- Support other implementation activities.
- Work with various departments to ensure accuracy of information received.
- Send data to other receiving areas.
- Complete compliance and time-sensitive requirements necessary to maintain organizational accreditation.
Requirements
- Requires access to information considered sensitive to Albany Med Health System, its patients, affiliates, and partners, including but not limited to HIPAA Protected Health Information and other information regulated by Federal and New York State statutes.
- Workforce members are expected to ensure that access to information is based on a “need to know” and is the minimum necessary to properly perform assigned duties.
- Use or disclosure shall not exceed the minimum amount of information needed to accomplish an intended purpose.
- Reasonable efforts, consistent with Albany Med Health System policies and standards, shall be made to ensure that information is adequately protected from unauthorized access and modification.
