About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Shopper Marketing Manager to lead the development and delivery of our UK Shopper Marketing strategy across a portfolio of leading brands and retail customers. This pivotal role is responsible for transforming brand and commercial strategies into compelling shopper experiences that increase conversion, strengthen customer partnerships, and deliver profitable growth. You'll have ownership of a significant shopper marketing investment, working closely with Sales, Marketing, Category, eCommerce, and external partners to ensure every pound spent delivers measurable commercial value.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver the UK Shopper Marketing strategy, turning brand and commercial objectives into impactful shopper activation plans.
  • Manage a significant shopper marketing budget, ensuring investment is targeted, measurable, and delivers strong commercial returns.
  • Lead customer-specific activation programmes across retail and eCommerce channels, including promotions, launches, seasonal campaigns, and in-store activity.
  • Use shopper, category, and customer data to identify opportunities, evaluate performance, and optimise ROI.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Category Management, and external agencies to create best-in-class shopper experiences.
  • Drive excellent execution across all customer touchpoints, ensuring activity is delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
  • Act as the UK shopper marketing expert, influencing business decisions through insight, data, and a deep understanding of shopper behaviour.

Requirements

  • Proven experience within FMCG, ideally in Shopper Marketing, Customer Marketing, Trade Marketing, or a similar commercial role.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a good understanding of NSV, margin, ROI, and promotional effectiveness.
  • Experience developing and executing successful shopper and customer marketing plans.
  • Proven ability to manage significant budgets and evaluate investment performance.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with experience turning shopper, customer, and retailer data into actionable insights.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, with confidence presenting recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Nielsen, Kantar, and other relevant insight tools.
  • Strong understanding of the UK retail landscape, shopper behaviour, and customer dynamics.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, agencies, and external partners.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A commercially curious, shopper-focused mindset with the confidence to challenge, innovate, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Highly organised, proactive, and accountable, with a positive and solution-focused approach.
