About the Role

The Maintenance Assistant supports the Maintenance Director in maintaining the community's appearance and functionality, ensuring all areas and equipment are in good working order. Responsibilities

  • Complete work orders for tasks such as changing light bulbs, AC filters, painting, plumbing, light carpentry, and sheet rock repair.
  • Perform general maintenance duties as assigned.
  • Assist with the maintenance of all community areas, including grounds, fences, parking areas, ditches, houses, swimming pools, spas, furniture, appliances, HVAC, and lift stations.
  • Assist with the maintenance of service equipment, power equipment, tools, and kitchen equipment.
  • Assist with maintaining preventative maintenance records for residential units and tracking repairs using the work order system.
  • Conduct daily inspections of the building, grounds, and equipment.
  • Promote safety by identifying and resolving potential hazards for residents, visitors, and associates.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • 6 months of work experience in residential maintenance.
  • Experience with sheet rock, carpentry, plumbing, painting, and changing light fixtures.
  • Thorough understanding of building and fire safety.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and high attention to detail.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English and communicate effectively with residents, family, and staff.
  • Ability to perform moderate to heavy exertion, including standing, reaching, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
  • Ability to lift between 50 and 100 lbs.
  • Availability after hours.
  • Possession of or willingness to acquire a valid driver's license for company use.
