About the Role
Block by Block employs Ambassadors to make public spaces friendlier, safer, and cleaner. This role is ideal for outgoing, friendly individuals who enjoy working outdoors and interacting with people. It's also a great opportunity for retirees, veterans, and graduating high school seniors.
Responsibilities
- Patrol assigned zones on foot and/or bike to deter unwanted behavior and activity.
- Provide information, assistance, and directions to pedestrians and visitors with a positive, professional demeanor.
- Observe and report unwanted behaviors or criminal activity to local authorities, providing accurate descriptions.
- Politely request compliance from individuals violating minor quality-of-life offenses.
- Engage pedestrians with friendly greetings and provide directions and city information.
- Visit zone businesses to share information and gather contact details.
- Complete basic daily reports of tasks performed.
Requirements
- Valid TX Driver's License with a clean record required.
- Asset Protection/Security background required.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Physical capacity to walk or traverse continuously during an eight-hour shift.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language.
