About the Role

The IT Business Partner will manage the technology stack for Founders Forum Group, acting as the liaison between the business and the outsourced IT partner. This role involves owning the group software estate and budget, leading security accreditation efforts, and establishing technology for new ventures. It requires strong project management, vendor and stakeholder management, and technical fluency to translate business needs into technical requirements, without writing code or designing architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the outsourced IT provider and other technology suppliers, conducting service reviews and ensuring adherence to service levels.
  • Maintain a comprehensive register of all IT and SaaS tools, including ownership, cost, renewal dates, and status.
  • Project manage technology initiatives from inception to completion, such as CRM and marketing automation migrations.
  • Oversee contract renewals, negotiations, and consolidation opportunities for the technology estate.
  • Manage user access across systems for joiners, movers, and leavers, ensuring accurate license counts.
  • Provide platform administration support for core systems, collaborating with the Data Manager on data and reporting aspects.
  • Identify opportunities for tool duplication and consolidation to reduce costs.
  • Support the CFO with the annual IT budget, forecasting, and monthly reporting, including tracking renewals and license changes.
  • Develop business cases for technology investments, outlining costs, benefits, and risks.
  • Serve as the primary contact for team leads regarding daily technology needs, monitoring spend and license utilization.
  • Act as the main point of contact for information security queries, escalating complex issues to the CTO.
  • Coordinate responses to security questionnaires and data protection requests, tracking deadlines.
  • Assist in running security awareness training and onboarding for the team.

Requirements

  • Experience in IT operations, IT management, business systems, or technical project management, preferably in a startup or scale-up environment.
  • Proven ability to manage outsourced providers and vendors, including contracts, service levels, and commercial negotiations.
  • Strong project management skills with experience managing multiple concurrent projects and ongoing programs.
  • Experience with CRM or marketing automation migrations, including data migration, integration, and post-launch adoption.
  • Demonstrated ownership of an IT or SaaS budget, with a solid understanding of licensing models and cost-saving strategies.
  • Practical experience with information security and data protection in a commercial context, including access control, security questionnaires, and GDPR.
  • Proficiency in administering and integrating a modern SaaS stack, including tools like Google Workspace, CRM, marketing automation platforms, Airtable, Notion, Asana, Slack, Xero, Stripe, and BambooHR.
  • Comfort with integration and automation concepts, APIs, and no-code/low-code tooling.
  • Experience setting up IT infrastructure for new entities or business lines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and vice versa.
  • Ambition and strategic vision.
  • A positive, can-do attitude.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • A structured, methodical approach to complex technical problems.
  • Discretion and sound judgment when handling sensitive data.
