About the Role

This role supports the timely resolution of delinquent accounts through administrative coordination, vendor communication, and repossession and charge-off file maintenance. Come grow with us and make a difference every day.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors consistent daily follow-up of loan accounts in repossession/charge off phase.
  • Ensures all repossession policies, procedures, and regulations have been followed prior to assigning any repossessed collateral to auction for proper disposal.
  • Assigns vehicles out for repossession.
  • Requests titles for vehicles assigned out for repossession and complete repossession affidavits.
  • Correspond with agents regarding outstanding repossession assignments.
  • Send appropriate letters to members once vehicle is repossessed, such as Notice of Intent to Sell, personal property, and calculation of deficiency.
  • Monitors towing notifications and act accordingly.
  • Assists with preparation of loan documents for scanning.
  • Assigns all repossessed collateral to appropriate auction after their legal sale date.
  • Track collateral in auto auction platforms to ensure timely and effective sale.
  • Prepares sale proceeds check for posting and send proper deficiency balance letters.
  • Make routine visits to local auction to evaluate vehicles.
  • Prepare vehicles for sale at auction upon expiration of repossession notification letter including determining the value of the vehicle, notifying the appropriate auction of the minimum floor price, and inform transport agents when vehicles need to be taken to auction.
  • Process repossession invoices to be paid.
  • Utilizes telephone and email contact with vendors as pertains to repossessed loan accounts.
  • Provide consistent exceptional service to internal and external members.
  • Refers and/or confers with AVP of Collections (daily) on any problem accounts.
  • Files and maintain accurate records pertaining to all types of claims.
  • Manage backend cancellation products: Gap/Service Warranty/Other
  • Maintains knowledge of all applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Processes all departmental mail received.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in a financial institution, collections, or administrative role (internal candidates who meet performance standards may be considered in lieu of specific department experience)
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple administrative tasks independently
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for vendor and member interactions
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and general office equipment
  • Ability to handle sensitive financial information with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality
  • Prior experience specifically in vehicle repossession processing or collateral liquidation
  • Knowledge of state-specific titling and repossession laws
  • Familiarity with auto auction platforms and valuation tools
  • Good credit standing (verified prior to interview)
  • Completion of an Assessment
  • Successful background check and drug screening upon offer
