About the Role
Responsible for planning and executing customer delivery orders, ensuring efficient material flow to achieve company objectives. Develops and maintains production schedules, collaborating with various departments to integrate information and meet production targets. Identifies and resolves issues impacting production plans, escalating when necessary and providing status updates to management.
Responsibilities
- Initiate planning process to MRP demand.
- Develop and maintain detailed production schedules to meet MRP demand.
- Monitor shop workload and capacity, ensuring necessary resources are available.
- Coordinate with Production Management team to optimize shop capacity and resource allocation.
- Issue orders and coordinate with Procurement to ensure timely availability of materials.
- Analyze production data to identify and resolve bottlenecks and implement effective solutions.
- Identify issues impacting or potentially impacting production schedules, recommend remedial actions, and achieve closure.
- Maintain accurate records and report on production activities and work-in-progress using the MRP.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality Assurance, and other supporting functions to resolve issues and integrate information on production schedules.
- Support and evaluate Bids with planning information such as accurate lead time.
- Generate Forecast of 3–6 month Production Schedule.
- Report and Chair Weekly Production Meetings.
- Review Bill of Materials (BOM's) to verify lead times and manage to schedules.
- Generate and approve the release of shipments to the customer.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Guide and assist junior planners as needed.
- Perform other relevant tasks and duties as assigned to support production objectives.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain or Operations Management, or similar.
- 5+ years of experience in production planning or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience preferably in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of production processes, inventory management, and supply chain.
- Experience in Lean Mfg. / continuous improvement, problem-solving teams.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion about matters related to production planning decisions.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, problem-solve, good communication, and time management skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
