About the Role
Sodexo is seeking Cooks to join their dynamic team. This role involves preparing and cooking healthy and appealing menus for consumers in a great team environment with work/life balance and great benefits.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and cooks to order foods that may require short preparation time.
- Prepares food and serves customers at an a la carte and may operate a grill station and pantry station.
- Reads food order or receives verbal instructions on food required by patron, and prepares and cooks food according to instructions.
- Provides the highest quality of service to customers at all times.
- Follows basic recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts and other foodstuffs for consumption in eating establishments.
- Prepares foods under direct supervision or instruction by operating a variety of kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients, washing, peeling, cutting and shredding fruits and vegetables, and trimming and cutting meat, poultry or fish for culinary use.
- Tastes products, reads menus, estimates food requirements, checks production, and keeps records in order to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment.
- Cleans and sanitizes work stations and equipment and must follow all Sodexo, client and regulatory rules and procedures.
- Receives inventory, moves and lifts foodstuffs and supplies and prepares meals for customers requiring special diets.
- Produces some batch goods using basic cooking techniques.
- Attends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.
- Attends all allergy and foodborne illness in-service training.
- Supports the Chef in the execution of daily activities.
- Prepares general food production, cooking, serving as well as other assigned tasks.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2-3 years in a similar role (high volume establishment preferred)
- Ensure health and safety procedures are being followed
- Passion for maintaining a healthy and safe environment (HACCP and OHS standards).

- Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives
- Experience in cooking
