About the Role
Akerman is seeking a Client Development Manager for its Litigation Practice Group. This role assists in implementing programs to support practice group business plans and enhance the firm's business and reputation. The ideal candidate will manage competing priorities and build relationships across multiple offices.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Senior Client Development Manager in developing and implementing client development, marketing, and communications plans.
- Meet frequently with practice group leaders.
- Create and monitor client development programs, including cross-selling initiatives.
- Manage the development of client-specific presentations, proposals, RFP/RFI responses, and other client-facing materials.
- Manage the development of all practice-related collateral for print and the firm website.
- Support the senior manager in onboarding new laterals joining the practice group.
- Develop story placement ideas for the media relations team and identify speaker placement opportunities.
- Track completed matter details and manage practice submissions for directories, databases, and other publications.
- Identify opportunities for sponsorships and other brand-building initiatives.
- Coordinate practice-related events and sponsorships.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- 8 to 10 years of experience in a business development or marketing role, preferably with an AmLaw 100 or professional services firm.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to meet multiple and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work with individuals at all levels across the firm.
- Ability to work well in a team environment, collaborating effectively.
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe.
- Experience working with Private Equity and Investment Banking industries preferred.
