Responsibilities
- Administer Windows Server, clients, Active Directory, Exchange, and standard applications and operationally relevant specialist systems.
- Install, maintain, and manage server and client systems, virtualization services, and backup solutions, and participate in projects in the network and system environment.
- Design and operate network components and connections, particularly firewalls, VPN, and network segmentation.
- Perform patch management, support audit preparation according to BSI IT-Grundschutz, and conduct individual checks.
- Manage data backup and verify system and data recoverability.
- Manage user accounts and access rights within the existing IT infrastructure.
- Plan and support software and hardware rollouts and coordinate local first and second-level support.
- Act as a point of contact for internal departments, external service providers, and international locations.
Requirements
- Very good general IT infrastructure knowledge with a focus on Microsoft technologies, especially Windows, Active Directory, and Exchange.
- Good knowledge of virtualization (e.g., VMware, Proxmox VE, or OpenStack).
- Practical experience with Veeam backup and system recovery.
- Experience in managing user accounts and permissions.
- Good network knowledge.
- Strong understanding of security.
- Knowledge in the administration of Linux systems.
- Independent and structured work style.
- Service-oriented.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Fluent in German and proficient in English.
