About the Role
As a Senior UX Design Engineer, you will own and solve challenging product problems. You will join the design team and collaborate with product managers and engineers to build and improve our AI platform for real estate legal work. This role focuses on user needs, trust, and functionality, with the opportunity to build and ship designs directly.
Responsibilities
- Find out who you're building for by talking to customers and mapping roles within law firms and property businesses.
- Design user interactions with AI agents, including input, verification, provenance, and agent behavior.
- Iterate on solutions with rough, working versions in front of users before adding polish.
- Build and ship interface changes using AI coding tools within the existing codebase.
- Maintain product coherence by establishing clear, reusable design rules and evolving the design system.
- Explain design decisions to ensure shared understanding and guide choices.
- Collaborate with product managers, legal engineers, and AI coding agents to build interfaces.
Requirements
- Own and solve hard problems, judging work by user adoption and reliance.
- Be comfortable with uncertainty, forming and testing views with real users.
- Possess design excellence and strong product sense, including hierarchy, layout, type, copy, states, navigation, and flow.
- Experience designing for experts in their field, using familiar patterns and respectful communication.
- Ability to articulate reasoning for decisions, ship without excessive sign-off, and explain concepts for reuse.
- Genuine excitement about AI, its potential, and its impact on the workday.
- Experience designing or building with AI tools.
- Desire to learn how property and legal work is conducted.
- Proven experience owning and shipping product design work, able to discuss the problem and solution.
- Experience designing AI products, including showing reasoning, signalling confidence, and enabling user control of agents.
- Experience in legal tech, fintech, compliance, or similar fields where precision and accountability are critical.
- Experience with design systems and accessibility.
- Experience in an early-stage or fast-scaling startup, contributing to process creation.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Willingness to spend most time on unsolved problems and building, rather than perfecting mock-ups.
- Completion of background screening.
