About the Role
A private household in Sloane Square, Chelsea is seeking an experienced, proactive, and highly organised Live-In Housekeeper for a permanent, long-term position. The role involves maintaining a six-bedroom property to hotel-level standards, with no regular childcare or cooking responsibilities as a Nanny and Chef are employed. The successful candidate will ensure the residence is immaculate and ready for the Principal's return when they are not in residence.
Responsibilities
- Full housekeeping and maintaining the residence to excellent, hotel-level standards
- Cleaning, dusting, tidying and general organisation throughout the property
- Laundry and ironing
- Bed linen and general linen care
- Ensuring the property remains immaculate, organised and well maintained whether the Principal is in residence or away
- Preparing the property ahead of the Principal’s arrival
- Helping with the smooth day-to-day running of the household
- Working alongside and liaising with the Nanny, Chef, House Manager and other household staff
- Monitoring the property and flagging any maintenance issues requiring attention to the House Manager
- Taking initiative and dealing with tasks proactively
- Preparing a simple breakfast, such as porridge and smoothies, if required when the Chef is not available
- Other general housekeeping duties as required
Requirements
- Strong previous experience within high-end private households
- Accustomed to maintaining a luxury residence to hotel standards
- Excellent housekeeping, laundry and ironing skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Fit, active and comfortable working in a large property
- Highly organised and proactive
- Ability to notice what needs doing and take action without waiting for instructions
- Reliable, discreet and trustworthy
- Comfortable working alongside other household staff
- Seeking a genuinely long-term position

About the Company
- The family lives in a six-bedroom property and already employs a Nanny and Chef.
- The European Principal is in residence for approximately five months in total throughout the year, generally for periods of around 1-3 weeks at a time.
- The family lives in a six-bedroom residence in Sloane Square with gym and spa facilities.
- The property has a lift; however, the Housekeeper should have a good level of fitness, as the house is arranged over 6 floors and there are also a significant number of stairs.
- The Housekeeper will be provided with private live-in accommodation consisting of a bedroom and bathroom within a self-contained flat with its own entrance.
