About the Role

The Tech Insights Group (TIG) at Bain & Company is seeking individuals to act as technical advisors for leading Private Equity investors and their tech-enabled portfolio companies. This role involves conducting product and technology due diligence and value creation assignments, leveraging expertise in software and commercial environments specific to tech-enabled businesses. You will gain exposure to leading global software and tech-enabled companies, working closely with former CTOs/CPOs, PE investors, and consulting teams. This is an opportunity to contribute to scaling a growing global capability within Bain & Company.

Responsibilities

  • Perform primary and secondary research, collecting and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Assess product strategy and roadmap completeness and viability.
  • Assess technology strategy and roadmap, including architectures, technical debt, hosting, and security.
  • Develop and communicate insights and recommendations to case team members, technology leaders, and PE investors.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate/Master’s degree from a top-tier university in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, data science, statistics, information systems, engineering, business management).
  • Candidates in their penultimate year of study, or those with less than two years of full-time work experience.
  • Passion for software and the broader tech industry, including digital transformation and disruptive business models.
  • Ability to absorb and interpret technical information.
  • Passion for delivering high-impact client results.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and emotional agility.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
  • Analytical and data-driven mindset.
  • Inquisitive mindset and eagerness to learn.
  • Aptitude for creative, quantitative, and qualitative problem-solving.
  • Entrepreneurial, curious, creative, and innovative thinking.
  • Strong belief in agile continuous improvement principles.

  • Professional fluency in English.
  • Fluency in French/German is a plus.
