About the Role

This role is primarily focused on consultant staffing, providing leadership and support across key consulting talent programs including staffing, performance management, and integration within the office. You will combine strong program management with thoughtful people leadership to help consultants navigate their careers, ensure teams have the talent they need, and support processes that contribute to an exceptional employee experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead consultant staffing by partnering with case team leadership to understand staffing needs and overseeing staffing of consulting teams.
  • Balance client, office, and individual needs in staffing decisions.
  • Monitor case team assignments to ensure consultants gain exposure to diverse projects and experiences.
  • Support career and professional development by building relationships, providing guidance, and managing development processes.
  • Manage professional development processes for consulting staff, including reviews and feedback.
  • Determine appropriate individual performance ratings or help consensus reviewers align on ratings.
  • Hold regular class meetings and training sessions for consultants.
  • Manage people programs and processes in partnership with Human Resources, including performance management, employee relations, and transfers.
  • Support recruiting and interviewing for Associate Consultant and Consultant roles.
  • Contribute to the development and recommendation of operating policies and process improvements.
  • Maintain data integrity within internal staffing programs.
  • Contribute to broader office priorities by leading or contributing to strategic initiatives and special projects.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen programs, processes, and the overall experience of consulting staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Management, Liberal Arts, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • MBA is preferred.
  • At least 6 years of professional experience.
  • At least 2 years of progressive management experience, preferably in a consulting environment.
  • Deep knowledge of consulting and understanding of the roles of Associate Consultants, Consultants, and Managers.
  • Strong service orientation, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills.
  • Outstanding communication with strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships and navigate competing priorities with sound judgment.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information appropriately.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively, meet deadlines, and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Salary/Compensations

  • $187,000-224,000 in California
