About the Role
The Human Resources (HR) Specialist partners with the Bay Area Manager and Senior Manager to provide comprehensive HR support for the San Francisco and Silicon Valley Offices. This role acts as the primary liaison for Associate Consulting Classes and the Summer Intern Program, managing the employee lifecycle and performance management. The position requires strong program management skills, knowledge of policies, and effective communication. This is initially a temporary position with the possibility of conversion to permanent full-time.
Responsibilities
- Act as an HR Business Partner to Program Manager responsible for Associate Consultant general consulting cohorts
- Oversee all HR Programs and activities for cohorts, including onboarding, compensation, employee relations, leaves of absence, transfers, performance management, bonus payments, departure, and exit interviews
- Partner with Program Managers for cohorts to help coordinate ratings process and promotion committees, ensuring all policies are followed
- Attend all TAC (performance management) meetings for cohorts
- Manage performance management process for employees in cohort, ensuring correct language in performance reviews, meeting with employees to explain policies/options, and ensuring timely submission and delivery of reviews
- Escalate all employee complaints to Senior Manager
- Partner with Senior Manager to provide HR advice on complex situations and investigate routine employee relations complaints
- Act as an ombudsman and "eyes and ears" of employees in cohort, working closely with Program Management to identify trends and help build strategy to increase cohort retention and satisfaction
- Attend class meetings for cohort to understand perspectives and answer questions
- Use data sources to monitor cohort morale and provide thought leadership to Program Management on program overall
- Work with Regional HR Operations team to ensure accurate and timely administration of core HR systems and other activities
- Work closely with Global Compensation, Mobility & Immigration and Benefits teams to ensure accurate and timely activities where these groups intersect with cohorts
- Work closely with Program Management and Recruiting to offer support on accommodations or tricky situations that arise over the summer for the Summer Intern Cohort
- Partner closely with Senior Manager, and local leadership on employee matters in the Summer Intern Cohort
- Work with Global Mobility to determine transfer needs
- Partner with the HR Operations center to initiate outgoing transfer agreement process and approve all transfer agreements
- Work with Immigration to ensure proper visa requirements for international transfers
- Liaise with Immigration team and employees when visa issues arise
- Partner with Benefits on all medical leave of absence requests
- Engage with Benefits and the regional Reasonable Accommodations Committee (RAC) for all medical accommodation requests
- Run compensation reports, manage top-up bonuses, and audits as necessary
- Play an active role in the regional AC/SAC HRBP group, partnering with colleagues across the region on policy programming and thought partnership
- Attend all regional trainings and HR calls as appropriate for HR Specialists
- Maintain HRIS records with daily approvals in Workday and may enter employee information as requested
- Gather data and run reports as requested through Workday
- Administer and track client required background checks as needed
- Perform special projects and other related duties as assigned or as responsibilities dictate
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience is required
- A minimum of 3-4 years professional experience is required
- Strong customer service, organization, interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to deal with highly confidential information appropriately
- Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and juggle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Meticulous attention to detail necessary
- Comprehensive knowledge of, and experience with Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint is required
- Previous HRIS systems experience a bonus

- Annual discretionary performance bonus
