About the Role
Heidi is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to own new features end-to-end, from the React interface to the Python service and underlying data model. The ideal candidate has experience shipping SaaS products in a high-growth startup, with a keen eye for both user interface performance and backend efficiency. You should be comfortable taking a loose brief and delivering a working, tested feature independently, understanding user needs beyond the ticket description. This role offers the opportunity to thrive in a flat, flexible team and quickly learn the specifics of building an AI product for a global healthcare market.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside engineers to ship AI products that change healthcare operations.
- Own features from database to browser: design data models, build Python services, ship React/TypeScript interfaces, and iterate based on user feedback.
- Build fast, accessible interfaces using React, TypeScript, and Next.js.
- Design, build, and run high-performance backend services in Python, utilizing MongoDB and Redis.
- Design APIs for other engineering and AI teams, managing versioning, documentation, testing, and security.
- Develop and manage message queue systems for real-time data processing.
- Shape cloud infrastructure for scalability and reliability.
- Collaborate with product, design, and AI engineers to translate briefs into shipped workflows.
- Write clean, testable, and maintainable code.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with production work on both frontend and backend.
- Strong proficiency in React and TypeScript, with experience in Next.js or a comparable framework.
- Knowledge of browser rendering performance, state management, and accessibility.
- Experience with Python in production for building, testing, and running backend services.
- Hands-on experience with MongoDB and Redis, including data modeling and design patterns.
- Experience building and managing message queue systems at scale.
- Deep understanding of API design, including security, versioning, and performance.
- Knowledge of application and data security on both client and server sides.
- Experience integrating with third-party systems.
- Proficiency with source control and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience building scalable, reliable, and secure systems.
- Passion for AI, demonstrated through hands-on building, prototyping, or side projects.
- A proactive approach to building solutions.
- Confidence in thinking and openness to feedback.
