About the Role
The GM Risk and Capital Optimization Technology team is seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join the TAROT platform team in London. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting DevOps capabilities for strategic risk and capital optimization solutions, driving automation, improving software delivery, and ensuring platform scalability, security, and reliability. The engineer will modernize development and deployment practices within a regulated financial services environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-grade DevOps frameworks and best practices.
- Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, deployment, and release processes.
- Promote Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation-first approaches.
- Automate operational processes, environment provisioning, and deployment activities.
- Continuously improve software delivery lifecycle processes, deployment frequency, and release quality.
- Manage and administer source code repositories, branching strategies, and release processes.
- Support application versioning, release governance, and deployment planning.
- Implement best practices for code promotion, artifact management, and release automation.
- Collaborate with development teams on consistent development standards and deployment practices.
- Support multiple application environments (development, testing, UAT, production).
- Manage application hosting platforms, ensuring stability, availability, and performance.
- Monitor platform health and identify optimization opportunities.
- Support disaster recovery, resilience, and business continuity requirements.
- Work with infrastructure, cloud, and security teams to ensure secure, scalable, and compliant platforms.
- Manage Windows Server environments supporting business-critical applications.
- Administer and support IIS-hosted applications and web services.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment, and application performance issues.
- Support capacity planning, performance tuning, and operational readiness initiatives.
- Embed security controls and DevSecOps principles into the software delivery lifecycle.
- Ensure adherence to enterprise technology standards, risk controls, and operational procedures.
- Support platform vulnerability remediation, patch management, and audit requirements.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to enhance security automation and monitoring.
- Partner with software engineering teams to improve development workflows and deployment automation.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers on DevOps best practices and operational excellence.
- Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to platform modernization initiatives.
- Act as a subject matter expert for DevOps tooling, automation, and operational support.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Significant experience in a DevOps, Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering role.
- Proven experience designing and maintaining enterprise CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience supporting complex, business-critical applications in production environments.
- Strong experience working within financial services, banking, capital markets, or other regulated industries is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and evolving technology environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence.
- Self-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset.
