About the Role

The Division of Translational Neuroscience at City St George’s, University of London is seeking a Postdoctoral Image Analyst to contribute to the CONTENTed and COVID-19 neuroimaging studies. The research explores structural and functional brain changes associated with severe asthma and COVID-19. Based at our Tooting campus, the successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team of scientists and clinicians, applying and developing magnetic resonance image analysis techniques to address novel research questions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and apply novel magnetic resonance imaging techniques to neuroimaging data from the CONTENTed and COVID-19 studies.
  • Develop automated data-processing pipelines.
  • Analyse clinical and cognitive data.
  • Interpret research findings.
  • Prepare high-quality publications and presentations.
  • Contribute to grant and ethics applications.
  • Maintain accurate research records.
  • Contribute to image analysis protocols.
  • Support student supervision and training.
  • Participate in the Division’s wider academic activities.

Requirements

  • Hold a PhD in an area related to magnetic resonance image analysis of the brain.
  • Detailed knowledge of neuroimaging and respiratory disease.
  • Experience applying algorithms to magnetic resonance images.
  • Experience developing image analysis pipelines.
  • Computer programming skills.
  • Experience writing journal articles.
  • Competent in Linux.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office.
  • Competent in statistical analysis software such as SPSS or R.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and independently within multidisciplinary teams.
