About the Role
The Advanced Analytics Centre of Excellence (CoE) aims to drive Emirates NBD's ambitious advanced analytics agenda, delivering significant business impact and fostering a data-driven culture. The CoE acts as an enabler for business units, guiding them in deploying advanced analytics models for smarter decision-making and housing skilled data scientists and engineers to execute projects.
Responsibilities
- Scope, design, and implement machine-learning models to support use case execution and achieve objectives.
- Collaborate with product owners, business translators, data warehousing, and data engineering teams to create big data applications.
- Design optimal data architecture and experiment with new machine learning techniques.
- Take charge of end-to-end delivery of machine learning models, including testing and maintenance.
- Support translators in communicating the design, functioning, and output of analytical models.
- Mentor junior colleagues in their duties and professional growth.
- Deliver a strong roadmap of AA projects in collaboration with Business Units.
- Document reusable code.
- Achieve personal technical development and learning goals.
- Conduct knowledge sharing sessions internally and externally.
- Participate in and help plan cultural initiatives for the CoE.
Requirements
- University degree.
- Advanced degree (MS/Ph.D) in Computer Applications, Economics, Statistics or Mathematics or related technical discipline with high analytical rigor is desirable.
- 6-8 years of experience in a data science role is essential.
- Validated experience of defining analytics road map and leading analytics engagements.
- Experience in machine learning, statistics, optimization or related fields.
- Experience with programming is a must; specifically experience in R or Python.
- Experience of working with large data sets, simulation/optimization and distributed computing tools (Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, etc.) is essential.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Worked in agile environments with multiple stakeholders from the business.
- Practical and action oriented.
