About the Role

The Front Office Manager is responsible for the successful operation and administration of all front office departments, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and maximizing department profitability. This role involves leading, training, and motivating staff, and serving as the liaison between the front office and other hotel departments.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute innovative front office strategies to exceed guest satisfaction and revenues.
  • Collaborate with the front office team in departmental planning, development, and execution.
  • Ensure front office staff and management are properly trained to standards.
  • Work closely with department managers and supervisors for their personal and professional development.
  • Investigate and resolve all complaints regarding service and/or accommodations.
  • Monitor budgets and payroll records, reviewing financial transactions.
  • Establish standards for personnel performance and customer service.
  • Review work procedures and operational problems to identify areas for improvement.
  • Organize and direct worker training programs, resolve personnel problems, hire new staff, and evaluate employee performance.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to Front Office staff.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all Front Office department policies and service procedures.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all hotel features, services, room types, rates, promotions, arrivals/departures, and room availability.
  • Review and respond to daily operational demands.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly departmental financial and payroll forecasts.
  • Monitor security of public areas of the hotel.
  • Establish par levels for supplies and equipment.
  • Provide training, development, professional discipline, and positive support for all department employees.
  • Create and maintain a quality, professional work environment.
  • Administer performance evaluations for all departmental employees.
  • Anticipate guest and employee needs and respond promptly.
  • Always promote positive guest relations.
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings to review pertinent business information.
  • Facilitate departmental strategic planning meetings.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED or Work Equivalent.
  • 3 years of experience in hospitality management.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Experience with hotel information systems is required.
