About the Role
We are seeking an exceptional Founding Engineer to join a tech company founded by industry veterans. This role involves designing, building, and scaling a core platform from the ground up, delivering high-performance solutions for complex data processing and mission-critical workflows with high individual autonomy.
Responsibilities
- Drive the architectural vision and hands-on execution for core platform foundations.
- Own solutions across their entire lifecycle, from problem definition to production support.
- Establish pristine engineering standards, clean system design, and automated validation.
- Identify structural friction, optimize system bottlenecks, and build reusable tools.
- Architect systems from scratch and refactor paradigms as needed.
- Create high-performance code across the tech stack.
- Take full responsibility for end-to-end execution.
Requirements
- Strong foundations in algorithms, system architecture, concurrency, distributed systems, and performance tuning.
- Deep understanding of performance at the hardware level.
- Experience building low-latency, high-throughput systems processing millions of events per second.
- Fluid ability to work across multiple languages and paradigms (e.g., Python, C++, Java, TypeScript).
- Experience working across diverse, modern data paradigms.
- Hands-on capability deploying and operating latency-sensitive production systems.
- Absorb new languages, frameworks, and domain concepts effortlessly.
- Choose the right tool for the job based on performance, scalability, and complexity.
- See what needs to be built, design the solution, and ship it.
- High personal standards for code clarity, system robustness, and architectural elegance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Communicate clearly with technical peers and executive leadership.
- Translate raw requirements into technical execution without friction.

- Rely on strong engineering first principles and sound technical judgement.
- Prior experience in quantitative finance, capital markets or hedge funds (strongly preferred).
- Hands-on exposure to high-volume financial data pipelines (strongly preferred).
