About the Role
Improve patient health through an innovative, patient-focused culture dedicated to making a difference in the communities served.
Responsibilities
- Oversee strategic planning, direction, leadership, and operational management of quality, patient safety, infection prevention, and accreditation programs.
- Coordinate, measure, and improve performance and outcomes related to quality, safety, and accreditation.
- Collaborate across the enterprise and externally to advance the network as a leader in quality and safety.
- Analyze and report patient safety, risk management, and patient grievance data.
- Oversee education and oversight of educational activities related to risk, safety, Just Culture principles, and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate process improvements to minimize harm and avoid repeat events in response to significant risk/safety events.
- Collaborate with the Chief Quality Officer in setting and driving organizational vision, operational strategy, and results.
- Translate strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth, implementing organization-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operating planning.
- Ensure adherence with federal, state, and local business requirements, enforcing compliance and taking action when necessary.
- Manage budgets in areas of responsibility and mitigate variances.
- Make sound decisions on the best use of resources in support of regional priorities and strategies.
- Provide leadership and guidance in developing and implementing programs to improve performance and manage costs while enhancing patient care quality.
- Establish clearly defined goals and objectives and ensure timely follow-through.
- Provide leadership in mentoring and developing direct reports and staff, emphasizing teamwork, collaboration, and information sharing.
- Create a culture that is decisive, action-oriented, flexible, and poised to seize opportunities.
- Ensure the integration of quality, service, and efficiency improvements into day-to-day operations.
- Develop and implement foundational strategy and change management for quality and safety objectives.
- Direct and implement evidence-based programs and practices for continuous improvements in quality and safety.
- Work closely with Clinical and Non-Clinical teams to improve key performance indicators and design processes for new initiatives.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to ensure optimal CMS and Leap Frog ratings, and develop mitigation strategies for suboptimal performance.
- Facilitate alignment between improvement initiatives and the organization's strategic plan.
- Direct the day-to-day execution of strategies and tactics to improve organizational outcomes.
- Maintain the system-wide Quality and Safety program, including data collection, analysis, policy maintenance, and reporting.
- Assist in establishing operational performance measurements and monitoring key performance indicator trends.
- Provide strategic leadership in bringing together diverse constituencies to conceptualize, articulate, and implement a shared vision.
- Provide leadership in developing and executing key strategies that differentiate the organization in service and clinical excellence.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years progressive leadership experience in healthcare operations, management, quality, and patient safety.
