About the Role
LCRA Water Surface Management (WSM) Team is seeking a collaborative and customer-focused Intern to assist in the implementation of WSM Standards and Ordinances to provide safety and access on our beautiful lakes while also maintaining their pristine water quality. This role offers meaningful, hands-on experience and mentorship from industry leaders.
Responsibilities
- Assist with implementation and administration of various water surface management programs, such as the Highland Lakes Marina Ordinance (HLMO) and Highland Lakes Residential Dock Safety Standards Program (RDSP)
- Assist staff in conducting inspections of marinas and docks
- Learn to perform technical construction plan reviews and gain knowledge and experience with electrical, fuel and wastewater systems in a marine environment
- Provide basic guidance on WSM permitting and support tracking and coordination of permitting activities
- Coordinate billing and fee changes for annual marina permit fees with appropriate internal billing resources
- Assist in records retention, auditing and archiving of permits
- Coordinate and work with staff on special projects
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent
- Currently enrolled in an accredited university/college program in freshman year or has completed freshman year and will be starting sophomore year
