About the Role

The Digital Systems & Collections Librarian will ensure the Library's collections, systems, and digital services are discoverable, accessible, and aligned with the Bank's research and business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and improve access to the Library's physical and digital collections, including metadata, discovery, retention, and collection maintenance activities.
  • Administer and support library systems, discovery services, and digital access tools to ensure information resources are reliable, discoverable, and easy to use.
  • Investigate and resolve technical access, authentication, and electronic resource issues in collaboration with vendors and internal technology teams.
  • Contribute to collection analysis, resource evaluation, and service improvement initiatives that support the Bank's research, policy, and operational work.
  • Provide research support, training, and guidance to help staff make effective use of library resources, systems, and information services.
  • Build and maintain professional networks and keep track of relevant developments in library systems, digital information access, and information management.

Requirements

  • Experience with maintaining library collections, information resources, or digital content, including metadata, access, data quality, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Practical experience administering and supporting library management systems, discovery platforms, web-based services, or other digital information tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to investigate technical access issues, analyze information, document processes, and recommend practical improvements.
  • Sound understanding of information management principles, digital access, collection development, and the organization of knowledge assets.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with clients, vendors, and internal technology teams, and to support users through guidance, training, and responsive service delivery.
  • Curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to contribute to projects, service improvements, and emerging digital or technology-enabled library services.

Education Level

  • University degree with postgraduate library qualifications, or a bachelor's degree in librarianship, or currently enrolled and working towards completion of equivalent qualifications with relevant experience in a similar role is preferred.
