About the Role
As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will integrate Advanced Navigation's inertial navigation systems into customer applications, ensuring performance in demanding conditions. You will support the sales team, manage project timelines, provide customer updates, and resolve technical issues to ensure client satisfaction. This customer-facing role involves running field trials, analyzing data, debugging integrations, and providing feedback to R&D. You will own customer deployments with a path to senior roles.
Responsibilities
- Engage with prospects and customers to assess geospatial navigation requirements and recommend solutions.
- Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to showcase capabilities and value proposition.
- Integrate Advanced Navigation products into customer platforms across land, air, maritime, and robotics applications.
- Configure, mount, align, and tune systems, resolving integration issues.
- Plan and execute field tests, trials, and Proof of Concepts (PoCs).
- Collect and analyze position, velocity, acceleration, and orientation data.
- Present evidence-based results to stakeholders.
- Capture field usage, gaps, and feature requests for Product and R&D.
- Contribute to product documentation, application notes, and knowledge bases.
- Foster strong relationships with cross-functional teams (sales, product, marketing, customer success).
- Act as a trusted advisor to customers, providing expert guidance.
- Maintain regular communication with customers to address inquiries.
- Grow and develop with the company, taking on additional duties.
- Develop a solid operational understanding of all company aspects.
- Live by company values and set quantifiable targets.
- Advocate for safety and remain compliant with HSE requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Masters preferred).
- 3-5 years of relevant experience.
- 3+ years of experience in a pre-sales or technical sales role, preferably within the technology industry.
- Solid technical knowledge of inertial navigation systems, GNSS, and fiber optic gyroscopes.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven track record of driving successful sales outcomes, building customer relationships, and delivering exceptional service.
- Customer-focused mindset with a passion for problem-solving, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Customer-facing role with balanced capability across pre-sales, implementation, and support.
- Dedication to delivering a great customer experience and creative problem-solving.
- Experience working in support environments using integrated CRM systems.
- Experience with tools such as Matlab for data analysis.
- Enjoyment in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong experience in Python and/or Matlab for data analysis.
- Excellent time management and drive to work quickly.
