About the Role

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will bridge Advanced Navigation's technology and the real world by integrating navigation systems into customer applications. You will work hands-on with customers, often on-site, to ensure optimal performance in demanding conditions. This role is crucial for supporting the sales team, managing timelines, providing client updates, and resolving product issues to ensure customer satisfaction. You will conduct field trials, analyze data, debug integration challenges, and translate learnings into solutions and feedback for product and R&D teams. You will also provide both onsite and online support in pre-sales and post-sales contexts, acting as a technical advisor to build credibility and drive customer value.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with prospects and customers to assess geospatial navigation requirements and business objectives.
  • Recommend solutions leveraging expertise in geospatial technologies, including GNSS and INS.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to design and customize solutions.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to showcase capabilities and benefits.
  • Integrate Advanced Navigation products (INS, GNSS/INS, FOG-based systems) into customer platforms across land, air, maritime, and robotics applications.
  • Configure, mount, align, and tune systems; resolve interface, timing, communications-protocol, and environmental issues.
  • Plan and execute field tests, trials, and PoCs with customers.
  • Collect and analyze position, velocity, acceleration, and orientation data against reference truth.
  • Present clear, evidence-based results to stakeholders.
  • Capture real-world usage, gaps, and feature requests from the field and feed them back to Product and R&D.
  • Contribute to product documentation, application notes, integration guides, and internal knowledge bases.
  • Foster strong relationships with cross-functional teams, including sales, product development, marketing, and customer success.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers, providing expert guidance and support.
  • Maintain regular communication with customers to address questions, concerns, and technical inquiries.
  • Grow and develop with the company.
  • Take on additional duties and tasks as the position evolves.
  • Develop a solid operational understanding of all aspects within the company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Masters preferred).
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in a pre-sales or technical sales role, preferably within the technology industry.
  • Solid technical knowledge of inertial navigation systems, GNSS, and fiber optic gyroscopes.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Proven track record of driving successful sales outcomes, building customer relationships, and delivering exceptional service.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a passion for problem-solving, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Customer-facing role with balanced capability across pre-sales, implementation, and support functions.
  • Dedication to delivering a great customer experience.
  • Creative problem-solver in response to technical, product, and business questions.
  • Experience working in support environments using integrated CRM systems.
  • Experience with tools such as Matlab for data analysis.
