About the Role
Gigi is seeking an AI Agent Engineer to own the end-to-end development of agents and workflows for their AI media manager, Gigi. This role focuses on the software engineering aspects of LLM reasoning, tool usage, context retention, and reliable customer actions.
Responsibilities
- Ship agents end to end, owning capabilities from data and tools through reasoning and execution to the customer interface.
- Build with AI as a core part of your development workflow using coding agents.
- Build the agent's judgment, deciding what to do autonomously and what to escalate, scoring actions on risk and confidence.
- Draw the line between probabilistic and deterministic work, using LLMs for reasoning and structured software for execution.
- Build reliable agentic systems including tools, retrieval, memory, orchestration, guardrails, and human approval flows.
- Evaluate and improve agent behavior by turning customer workflows and production failures into evaluations and regression tests.
- Work directly with customers to understand their problems and translate them into shipped product.
Requirements
- A track record of building and shipping production software used by real customers.
- Strong software engineering experience, with depth in backend or full stack development.
- System design, APIs, data models, testing, debugging, and operating production software are central to this role.
- Hands-on experience building with LLMs or agents.
- Comfort across the stack, with real depth somewhere and no allergy to weaker areas.
- Experience using, or a strong desire to become highly effective with, AI coding tools.
- Curiosity about how LLMs change software products and the way software gets built.
- Judgment over specification; ability to make a reasoned call, ship it, and iterate fast.
- Comfort using AI coding agents to move quickly while maintaining a high bar for architecture, correctness, and maintainability.
- Ability to handle intensity, ambiguity, and high standards.
- Willingness to accept that some built code may not survive.
- Willingness to work across frontend, backend, product, and customer calls.
