About the Role
Gigi is seeking an AI Ads Product Builder/FDE to join their engineering team in Toronto. This role combines advertising domain knowledge, software development, and client service to build and deploy AI-powered products, workflows, and integrations. As a forward-deployed engineer, you will work directly with agency leaders and ads managers, owning the path from customer conversation to a usable solution.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with agency leaders and ads managers to understand business priorities, campaign workflows, reporting needs, and operational challenges.
- Use advertising knowledge to ask useful questions, explain possibilities and tradeoffs in plain language, and turn ambiguous needs into clear problems and practical solutions.
- Ship end-to-end features, owning them from the data layer through agent logic to the interface.
- Build integrations with advertising tools, APIs, and data sources customers rely on, handling permissions, data mapping, failures, and operational details.
- Work with Product and Engineering to determine what should become a shared feature, reusable integration, or agency-specific configuration.
- Build reliable agentic systems, including tools, retrieval, memory, evaluations, guardrails, and human approval flows.
- Deliver a strong client experience by owning discovery, prototyping, implementation, and rollout in collaboration with customers and the team.
- Set clear expectations, communicate progress and setbacks, help clients adopt built solutions, and follow through when issues arise.
- Use feedback and actual workflow results to improve solutions.
- Work with clients in person, traveling to client locations as needed for discovery, working sessions, onboarding, and rollout support.
- Build relationships with both agency leaders and the people using Gigi every day.
Requirements
- Experience in ad tech and advertising, with practical knowledge of media planning, campaign management, optimization, measurement, and reporting.
- Understanding of how agencies and ads managers work and the ability to connect technical decisions to their business impact.
- Client service experience and a strong interest in helping customers succeed.
- Ability to build relationships, understand client priorities, respond constructively to feedback, and take responsibility for follow-through.
- Strong communication skills with nontechnical stakeholders, including agency leaders and ads managers.
- Ability to lead useful discovery conversations, explain technical tradeoffs without jargon, and set realistic expectations about scope and delivery.
- A track record of building and shipping production software used by real customers.
- Strong full stack software engineering experience, including system design, APIs, data models, interfaces, testing, debugging, and operating production software.
- Comfort across the stack, with real depth in at least one area and no aversion to weaker areas.
- Experience using, or a strong desire to become highly effective with, AI coding tools such as Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, or similar tools.
- Ability to review AI-generated code, reject weak abstractions, catch missing edge cases, and remain accountable for what ships.
- Curiosity about how LLMs change software products and the way software gets built.
- Ability to develop good judgment around where AI belongs and where conventional software is better.
- Ability to turn open-ended customer requests into practical scope, set expectations, ship, and iterate quickly.
- Comfort using AI coding agents to move quickly while maintaining a high bar for architecture, correctness, and maintainability.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel to client locations as needed for collaboration, implementation, and relationship building.
- Willingness to work hard, embrace intensity, ambiguity, and high standards.
- Willingness to balance time spent building with client conversations, visits, and implementation support.
- Responsiveness while being clear about priorities and commitments.
