  • Partner with Product and Engineering early to shape API contracts and roadmap decisions around real developer scenarios.
  • Lead research with developers, administrators, and partners, and validate designs through prototypes and usability testing.
  • Design the full developer journey, from discovery and authentication to the first successful API call, debugging, and monitoring.
  • Drive consistent API patterns across the design organization, including documentation, code examples, errors, and permissions.
  • Partner with engineers through implementation and iterate based on real usage.
  • Define and track measures such as time to first successful API call, adoption, and developer satisfaction.
  • Use AI tools thoughtfully to speed up research and prototyping while keeping people accountable for decisions.
  • Influence senior stakeholders and build alignment across product and organization lines on a durable, developer centered platform experience.
  • Mentor designers and raise technical design fluency across the team.

  • Proven experience leading the design of APIs, developer portals, SDKs, or documentation.
  • Working knowledge of API concepts such as REST, authentication, and error handling, and the credibility to shape decisions with engineers.
  • Expert in information architecture, user flows, and high fidelity prototypes (leveraging code and ai tools) for complex technical workflows.
  • Deep experience leading research that shapes product strategy, from developer interviews to usability testing and data analysis.
