About the Role
Impact Kids is seeking experienced individuals to teach and instruct youth basketball classes and camps. The ideal candidate will be a high-energy, positive athlete passionate about coaching and making a difference in young children's lives through sports.
Responsibilities
- Supervise students, providing basketball-specific coaching and instruction.
- Ensure a safe and fun learning environment.
- Serve as a positive role model for students.
- Deliver daily basketball instruction to students aged 4-14 with varying ability levels.
- Demonstrate basketball skills and tactics, explaining principles and assessing student performance.
- Provide constructive criticism and feedback on student progress.
- Supervise groups, managing behavior, health, safety, and security.
- Ensure the safety of students and team members on and off the court.
- Organize and prepare daily plans in a fun and creative manner.
- Utilize effective classroom management skills to lead activities and foster an inclusive environment.
- Collaborate with fellow Activity Specialists on daily responsibilities.
- Uphold Impact Kids Core Values and professional appearance.
- Travel as needed.
- Respond to emergency situations requiring running and climbing stairs.
- Maintain good physical condition to execute all job responsibilities.
Requirements
- Must possess a high energy, positive approach with a genuine desire to impact young children’s lives through sports.
- Must be an athlete with considerable skill and passionate about coaching.
- Must provide constructive criticism.
- Must implement company curriculum.
- Must be a team player.
- Must demonstrate outstanding communication skills with children and parents.
- Must possess clear, concise, and grammatically correct written and oral language skills.
- A child abuse clearance and criminal checks are required.

Experience Level
- Minimum of 2 years of previous experience working with children (e.g., academic/athletic tutoring, camp counselor, youth volunteer).
- 1-5 years minimum of basketball/youth sports coaching experience required.
Education Level
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred but not required)
Salary/Compensations
- $40 - $60 per hour (based on education and experience)
