About the Role

This position is crucial for supporting educational programs for Rochester City School District students, Grades Pre-K-12. Responsibilities may include student supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with supervision of students during study hall periods.
  • Supervise students for brief periods to provide teachers with unassigned times.
  • Assist with supervision of students in school corridors.
  • Act as liaison between school, home and community agencies.
  • Assist classroom teachers with proctoring/administration of tests.
  • Assist classroom teachers with supervision of students on playgrounds.
  • Assist classroom teachers with behavior management.
  • Assist classroom teachers with preparation of instructional support materials.
  • Assist classroom teachers with reading stories.
  • Assist classroom teachers with collecting and arranging resources for teaching.
  • Assist students in performing activities initiated by the teacher.
  • Assist students who missed instruction due to absence.
  • Assist classroom teachers with listening to oral readings by students.
  • Conduct small group activities.
  • Correct homework and workbooks.
  • Assist students with writing assignments.
  • Provide small group or individual assistance with remediation and/or acceleration activities.
  • Assist in arrival and dismissal of students in or outside of the school building.
  • Provide toileting assistance.

Experience Level

  • One (1) year of experience with children in a professional setting is preferred.

Education Level

  • High school education diploma or GED is required.

Salary/Compensations

  • Minimum Salary: $17.00/hr.
  • Maximum Salary: $18.30/hr.
