About the Role
You'll build and own work across the whole platform, including the patient app, clinician portal, internal tooling, mobile apps, and the API. You will report directly to the CTO and work with a high degree of autonomy. This role is for an experienced engineer who can take a complex problem, define the solution, and own it through to production, setting priorities, leading projects end-to-end, and mentoring other engineers.
Responsibilities
- Ship features across the stack: frontend, backend, database, and own the day-to-day delivery of your work.
- Contribute to large, complex projects, taking ownership of your assigned pieces.
- Clarify assumptions and scope upfront by asking the right questions.
- Help maintain production health by debugging patient-facing issues and responding to incidents.
- Develop a working understanding of how the company delivers care to understand the impact of your work on patients and clinicians.
Requirements
- Solid experience shipping production software (approximately 5+ years) with real users and owned production systems.
- Confidence across the full stack (frontend, backend, database, infrastructure).
- Ability to own outcomes, set priorities, drive projects end-to-end, and be accountable.
- Strong business and product judgment, with the ability to explain trade-offs clearly to non-engineers.
- Experience mentoring engineers, providing useful code reviews, and clarifying ambiguous problems.
- A reliability mindset, including fixing issues properly and ensuring a positive patient experience.
- Comfortable with pace and change; startup experience is a plus.
- Sydney-based and willing to work alongside the team in person.
