About the Role

Capital One is seeking a technical Senior Director, Cybersecurity Product Manager to deliver game-changing cybersecurity solutions based on threat, data, and design thinking. This role requires the ability to seamlessly switch from executive-level risk conversations to diving deep into cybersecurity technology, staying on top of emerging trends and threats, and leading teams to success.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and communicate a technology-first, risk-based, and data-driven strategy and roadmap for enterprise security services, solutions, and capabilities.
  • Partner closely with engineering, operations, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Analyze and select alternatives based on threat, risk, desirability, feasibility, and viability.
  • Keep abreast of advances in industry to address the threat landscape.
  • Facilitate build vs. buy decisions to identify optimal strategies for addressing business and technology risks.
  • Maintain technical and risk credibility with your team and partners across the enterprise.
  • Maintain close ties to stakeholders, developers, and engineers, ensuring services meet their needs.
  • Iterate quickly and see products through to production and scale.
  • Establish product value propositions, metrics, and key indicators.
  • Recruit, motivate, mentor, and lead your team.

Requirements

  • Strong technical cybersecurity and analytical skills.
  • Ability to foster collaborative, open working relationships with technology groups and stakeholders, including vendor relationships.
  • Demonstrated clear communication skills and ability to interact effectively at all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to influence senior management and executives.
  • Experience managing multiple high-visibility and high-impact enterprise cybersecurity projects with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience operating successfully in a product-led technology environment.
  • Passion for cybersecurity.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • At least 11 years of experience in cybersecurity or information technology.
  • At least 10 years of experience evaluating, contributing to, or supporting the development of cybersecurity capabilities.
  • 11+ years of experience with cybersecurity frameworks and concepts such as NIST CSF, MITRE ATT&CK, CMMC, FedRAMP, etc.
  • 11+ years of experience performing analysis of or developing solutions for cyber threats, vulnerabilities, risks, or events.
  • 11+ years of experience working on teams and presenting to stakeholders cybersecurity information such as metrics, threat intelligence, controls, and/or requirements.
  • 8+ years of experience working in multi-cloud environments.
  • 10+ years of experience using security tools (e.g., Splunk, Crowdstrike, Qualys, or AWS Security Hub).
  • 7+ years of people management experience.
  • 5+ years of experience developing or interpreting cybersecurity metrics or dashboards.
  • 6+ years of experience developing and overseeing cybersecurity or technology risk programs.
  • Experience developing, representing, and influencing strategic investment or budget prioritization for cybersecurity risk programs.
  • Experience leading process improvement and control automation initiatives to enhance program maturity.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with industry risk governance or financial risk governance processes.
  • Ability to perform security incident analysis and assist with resolution.
  • Ability to translate technical findings into clear, actionable reports for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven track record building diverse talent pipelines.
