About the Role
We are seeking our first Internal Tools Lead to manage a team of two developers. This role will empower the company with tools for manufacturing, delivery, and subscription management, provide analytics for business decisions, and support AI enablement. You will provide technical and organizational leadership, contribute to development, and establish a strong foundation for the development cycle, including roadmapping, demoing, testing, and release. This role reports to the Head of Software and is based in our NYC office 5 days a week.
Responsibilities
- Provide a technical management process to the internal tools team.
- Align with the Head of Platform on a roadmap and deliver it on schedule.
- Collaborate with team leads across the company to understand their challenges.
- Proactively assess team, manager, and organizational development needs, make data-driven recommendations, and implement solutions.
- Execute individual contributor responsibilities on high-difficulty tasks.
- Provide constructive code reviews and mentor developers.
- Respond to bugs and issues in a timely and structured manner, keeping users informed.
- Guide the development of accessible tools to structure AI enablement.
Requirements
- 5+ years of deep technical experience focused on backend development.
- Strong product sense and flexibility in adopting new technologies and frameworks.
- Prior experience with development focused on internal stakeholders.
- Prior experience building complex sync pipelines between various internal systems.
- Prior experience managing and scaling a technical team.
- Demonstrable HR expertise and understanding of all areas of HR.
- Exceptional listening skills and ability to relate to, influence, and coach employees of all levels.
- Strong prioritization and project management skills.
- Proven ability to design clear processes while remaining agile.
- Clear and effective communication style for productive collaboration.
- Strong ability to see all sides of an issue, remain objective, and move to resolution.
