About the Role

Prep Academy Tutors is seeking experienced High School French Tutors in West Toronto and Etobicoke. Tutors will work one-on-one with students to provide personalized support and guidance in French studies, helping them strengthen their language skills and succeed academically.

Responsibilities

Provide academic support to high school students based on expertise and knowledge from the Ontario curriculum, with a focus on French.
Provide supplemental assignments and learning activities to students to help promote a greater understanding of French language concepts and course material.
Provide remedial and enrichment support for students in French, including support with reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, oral communication, comprehension, and literary analysis.
Support students with test and exam preparation, assignments, presentations, written work, and other French-language assessments.
Adapt instruction and learning activities to meet individual student needs, learning styles, and academic goals.
Communicate with parents or guardians to discuss student progress, academic goals, and areas for continued development.

Requirements

Energetic and enthusiastic teachers with experience teaching or tutoring high school students.
Strong knowledge of the Ontario high school French curriculum.
Fluency or advanced proficiency in French, with strong written and oral communication skills.
Experience teaching Core French, Extended French, or French Immersion is considered an asset.
Experience supporting students with French reading, writing, grammar, oral communication, comprehension, and literary analysis.
Committed to providing excellent customer service.
Enjoy working with students and families.
Great communication skills, with the ability to explain French language concepts clearly and adapt instruction to individual student needs.
Hold registration in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers.
Qualified to teach in a Canadian Province/Territory outside of Ontario.
A current teacher candidate pursuing a bachelor of education.
Experience as a lecturer/course instructor at an accredited Canadian University or College.
