This hands-on role involves leading and coaching P&C Partners, managing the employee lifecycle, and ensuring efficient, commercially sound people support. The position focuses on implementing the group people strategy in ANZ, running operational rhythms, managing risk, and developing a high-performing team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coach P&C Partners, setting clear priorities and providing necessary tools and support.
  • Own the ANZ people calendar, including performance and salary reviews, engagement, onboarding, offboarding, and reward and recognition.
  • Act as the senior escalation point for employee relations, including performance, misconduct, grievances, and restructures.
  • Own ANZ policies, procedures, and process documentation, ensuring compliance with Australian and New Zealand employment law.
  • Develop a clear view of performance and potential across ANZ to identify and support talent.
  • Ensure succession plans are in place for critical roles and that agreed actions are implemented.
  • Own ANZ people reporting, including headcount, attrition, hiring, and ER trends, and translate data into actionable insights.

Requirements

  • Previous ownership of a P&C function, region, or significant part thereof.
  • Experience leading and growing a team of People professionals.
  • A proactive approach to building, testing, and improving processes without extensive planning.
  • Ability to act without being asked and maintain speed without sacrificing quality.
  • Proven ability to build trust with leaders through sound, consistent advice grounded in business operations.
  • Experience coaching and developing others with care and accountability.
  • Confidence with Australian employment law and complex employee relations, with exposure to or willingness to learn New Zealand employment law.
  • Ability to coach Partners and leaders through difficult situations and identify when expert consultation is needed.
