About the Role

As an Application Modernization Consultant, you will evolve existing systems, delve into legacy and mainframe landscapes, and collaborate with experts to shape future-oriented architecture and transformation solutions. You will analyze and implement technical solutions, contribute to architectural decisions, and ensure the quality, stability, and efficiency of solutions through modernization measures and automation tools. You will also understand and technically support the replacement and modernization of legacy technologies, explore the application of AI and tech trends in projects, and translate technical concepts for decision-makers.

Responsibilities

Evolve existing systems, delve into legacy and mainframe landscapes, and shape future-oriented architecture and transformation solutions.
Analyze and implement technical solutions, contributing to architectural and technology decisions.
Implement modernization measures using automation tools to ensure solution quality, stability, and efficiency.
Understand and technically support the replacement and modernization of legacy technologies.
Explore and apply current AI and tech trends in projects and new services.
Translate technical content into understandable terms for decision-makers and ensure appropriate solutions are found.

Requirements

First practical experience in cloud technologies, software development, or modernization projects, ideally in a consulting environment.
Interest in modern deployment and automation approaches.
Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
First experience with Java, deployment, and automation approaches.
Practical programming experience in Java.
First exposure to microservices and containerization.
Openness to modernizing legacy technologies (e.g., COBOL, PL/1).
Structured and analytical working method.
Willingness to travel.
Very good written and spoken German and English (minimum B2 level).
Confident and responsible use of AI for high-quality analyses and customer solutions, as well as critical validation of AI results.
