About the Role

Colliers Global Occupier Services is seeking an experienced Senior Cost Estimator to support a large, multinational industrial and office Client within the Enterprise Project Management service line. This subject matter expert will provide ongoing support to project managers and the real estate team, ensuring effective cost management for global construction activities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain processes for effective cost management procedures.
  • Guide and support as Cost Estimator and assist Project Managers in defining realistic budgets for construction projects based on specific project requirements, procurement strategy, contract type, regional building codes, and market conditions.
  • Identify significant cost risks and develop mitigation measures in collaboration with project teams.
  • Provide cost estimates at various project stages, from preliminary to detailed levels.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of cost control measures during project execution.
  • Review cost forecasts and cost reports to ensure adherence to budget and cash-out plans.
  • Leverage expertise in cost and time-effective construction methods to help project managers deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Support Project Managers in Value Engineering, price, and claim negotiations with the General Contractor when cost optimizations are required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; concentration in construction management, engineering or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in Cost Estimating and Management (pre-contract and post-contract) required.
  • Special knowledge in typical cost benchmarks for industrial buildings (manufacturing, testing, R&D facilities, warehouses, offices) and relevant cost influencing factors.
  • Ability to critically review and challenge presented cost plans for quality and accuracy before management approval.
  • Profound understanding of most applicable contract types (e.g., pre-construction project-partnering, Design-Bid-Build to Design & Build and Open Book/cost plus fees, BTS-Lease) to consult project teams on contract management topics.
  • Must have international experience working on industrial construction projects.
  • Good Command of MS Office-applications like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience of digital design methods like BIM and work in cost databases.
  • Structured, organized way of working – self-starters are desired.
  • Special skills in applications such as RIB iTwo or CostX or similar tools are required.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Salary/Compensations

  • $148,762 to $160,000
