About the Role
Lead the enterprise risk function, strengthen organizational resilience, and support informed decision-making across St Vincent’s national health and aged care services. This role provides strategic leadership, advice, and oversight of enterprise risk, fostering a proactive risk culture.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework, Risk Appetite Statements, policies, and risk systems.
- Maintain an integrated enterprise risk profile and register, identifying, assessing, monitoring, and escalating material and emerging risks.
- Provide clear, insightful risk analysis and reporting to the Executive Leadership Team, Board, and relevant Board Committees.
- Act as a trusted advisor on strategic initiatives, investment decisions, and organizational transformation, embedding risk management into strategy and business planning.
- Oversee enterprise business continuity, crisis management, and resilience frameworks, including group-level recovery planning, testing, and exercises.
- Lead oversight of the Fraud and Corruption Control Framework, associated risk profiles, and control plans.
- Partner with Clinical Governance, Internal Audit, and operational leaders to strengthen integrated risk, assurance, and governance.
- Lead and develop the enterprise risk team, building organizational capability and a culture of openness, learning, and shared accountability.
Requirements
- Significant senior leadership experience in enterprise risk management within a large, complex, and highly regulated organization.
- Demonstrated success developing and maturing enterprise risk frameworks, risk appetite statements, and enterprise risk profiles.
- Experience advising Executives, Boards, and Board Committees, supported by strong analytical capability and high-quality risk reporting.
- Proven ability to integrate risk management into organizational strategy, business planning, and major change initiatives.
- Experience in business continuity, organizational resilience, and/or enterprise assurance.
- Highly developed stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing skills.
- Ability to build risk capability across a decentralized organization.
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing professional teams.
- Tertiary qualifications in risk management, business, governance, finance, health, law, or another relevant discipline.
- Experience in healthcare or aged care is highly regarded.
- Understanding of the Australian regulatory environment is highly regarded.
- Experience supporting significant organizational transformation is highly regarded.
