About the Role
Manages administrative support for a Division within the Financial Center Channel, including strategy development, measurement, reporting, and administration. Consults with executives to evaluate current methods and develop strategies for implementing changes and improvements. Requires a deep understanding of Financial Center Channel products, services, and processes, as well as excellent analytical abilities. The Business Support Executive works closely with the Division Executive and all Region Executives across the Division. This role influences the development of the business plan and ensures effective execution of priorities defined by the Division Executive. The Business Support Executive serves as a key integration point for the leadership team and business partners in Performance, Operations, Customer Experience, and Human Resources and acts as a point of contact for the Division Executive, as needed. The role collaborates with the Division Executive and Region Executives to proactively engage partners, identify gaps, and develop and execute plans to address them.
Responsibilities
- Facilitates and executes the Division business strategy.
- Maintains an ongoing pulse on developments impacting the Division; evaluates needs, develops recommendations, and partners with the Division Executive and Region Executives to translate strategic priorities into clear, actionable plans.
- Consults with the Division Executive to define and facilitate strategies, tactics, measurement, and reporting across the Division.
- Serves as a liaison to the business team and support partners and manages partnerships within a matrixed organization.
- Acts as the key integration point for the Division Executive by aligning messaging and priorities across the Division.
- Manages the Division Executive’s calendar and aligns resources to support priorities, including event preparation, planning calls, and content preapprovals.
- Manages expenses and key people processes, including staffing.
- Oversees risk and training completion for the Division, including compliance, new-hire, and initiative training, and serves as the chief operating officer for the Division Executive.
- Oversees communications for the Division.
- Conducts in-person market visits, as needed, independently or with Region Executives or the Division Executive.
- Plans and facilitates management routines, including staff meetings, offsite meetings, and events.
- Supports the Division during disaster response requiring Regional Support Team activation and during business-as-usual emergency response, including weather events, explosions, floods, and environmental issues.
- Acts as the liaison among subject matter teams, including Compliance, Loss Management, and Global Technology and Operations, frontline execution, and Business Readiness.
- Serves as a subject matter expert for assigned projects and initiatives, including renovation budget meetings with the Business Finance Officer, calendar management, and related business plans.
- Breaks down barriers to create a more inclusive environment that supports company Great Place to Work goals.
- Challenges end-to-end process efficiency and effectiveness, champion data driven decision-making and removes obstacles to optimize operations.
- Contributes to enterprise strategy and influence messaging to connect team contributions to business purpose, results, and success.
- Inspects and challenges risk controls, governance and culture to ensure the timely identification, escalation, debate and remediation of risk across the organization.
- Coaches to sustain and elevates organizational performance while differentiating to ensure pay for performance.
- Efficiently allocates and manages resources across the organization to drive short and long term profitability.
- Inspects and manages the health of the bench to ensure succession for the organization, while supporting enterprise talent needs.
- Mobilizes organizational resources to deliver the full range of the bank’s capabilities to meet client needs and to gain competitive advantage.
Requirements
- Five or more years of executive leadership experience in financial services.
- Strong knowledge of operational metrics and how they relate to risk functions, including Compliance, Audit, and Loss Management, and to Customer Experience.
- Demonstrated success managing complex strategic initiatives and influencing across lines of business, stakeholders, and control partners.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, from ideation and socialization through planning, development, and deployment.
- Experience developing and communicating operational strategies and executing action plans.
- Experience evaluating management routines to reduce process variability.
- Ability to interpret data, conduct gap analyses, and develop and execute action plans based on findings.
- Experience developing and delivering presentations to executive stakeholders.
- Proven track record of building strong partnerships and influencing at the executive level without direct authority.
- Performance management experience.
- Ability to independently solve problems and resolve issues.
- Strong business judgment and decision-making skills.
- Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time, including day trips and overnight travel.
- Prior experience as a Consumer Market Executive, Area Executive, or in Region Business Support Controls or risk management, either directly or through partnership with Legal, Risk, and Compliance partners.
