About the Role
This role focuses on partnering with operating and finance colleagues to support high-quality software businesses owned by Banyan Software. The position is ideal for an individual interested in all aspects of finance operations, including revenue recognition, accounts payables and expenses, cash management, financial reporting, and analysis, as well as systems. The finance group aims to leverage financial and other data to drive shareholder value.
Responsibilities
- Prepare timely and accurate GAAP financial statements, board reporting, budgets, and KPIs of operating companies.
- Perform quality assurance on finance and accounting work products, reviewing GL postings, monitoring revenue recognition, and refining variance explanations.
- Contribute to operational performance through analysis of budget-to-actuals, benchmarking, and operational revenue and expense analysis.
- Partner with M&A colleagues and support the operational/financial integration of acquisitions.
- Implement process improvement initiatives.
- Develop ad hoc reports and dashboards for CEOs.
- Document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to promote best practices and efficiency.
- Provide financial advice and guidance to the business as requested.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a finance/accounting role.
- Solid working knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Highly motivated and energetic with interest in entrepreneurship, software, and finance.
