About the Role

As a Performing Arts (Theatre) Teacher with Scholars Academies, you will be student-facing the majority of the day. You will collaborate with your grade team and the instructional leadership team to internalize and develop curriculum, provide high-quality instruction, track student progress, foster a positive classroom culture, and engage in continuous improvement. You will also serve as a class advisor, providing mentorship and support to students throughout their high school careers. The team works together to equip students with the skills, character, and emotional well-being necessary to excel academically, lead their communities, and achieve their full potential.

Requirements

  • Expertise in theatre arts at the high school level or above.
  • Hold yourself to high professional and ethical standards.
  • Experience with or excitement about researching best practices in anti-racist pedagogy.
  • Enjoy and/or have experience working with diverse populations of students and communities.
  • Believe that every student can and will learn when provided with a quality education.
  • Demonstrated success in raising the achievement levels of students who historically have not had equitable access to education opportunities.
  • Willing to be flexible in your role and adapt to school and student needs.
  • Committed to continuous improvement and learning through professional development.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in relevant educational positions.
