About the Role
The Market Manager is a dynamic, multi-unit leader responsible for providing excellent customer service and creating an exceptional Guest experience in gift shops. You will provide products and services that nurture, inspire, and comfort, acting as a trusted place for joy and support.
Responsibilities
- Lead sales efforts and drive performance goals for the home store and assigned area stores.
- Build and lead sales-driven teams.
- Travel 50% of the time to assigned stores and 50% in the home store.
- Lead market operations remotely.
- Manage store staffing and onboarding for new team members in home and area stores.
- Train staff on sales techniques, products, promotions, and procedures.
- Provide performance feedback and set achievement timeframes for staff.
- Ensure merchandise availability by maintaining inventory levels.
- Market merchandise according to plans and ensure area stores comply with merchandising standards.
- Observe security standards to secure merchandise and protect employees.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results.
- Handle staff scheduling to ensure adequate shift coverage and assist area stores.
- Address and resolve escalated customer service issues.
- Complete daily operational procedures efficiently and ensure area stores comply with standards.
- Execute and implement Lori's Gifts procedures in home and area stores.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- 3 or more years of retail experience.
- 2 or more years in a store management or supervisor capacity.
- High School diploma or GED or College degree.
- Experience evaluating and hiring store personnel.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Capable of standing for long periods.
- Flexibility to open and close store independently.
- Previous specialty or big box retail experience is ideal.
- Multi-unit experience is a plus.
- Area travel required 50%.
